All of the attention on Saturday was being paid to the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team as they prepare for the Final Four. They’ve temporarily had the spotlight stolen by the football team, who just picked up a pair of commitments.
According to Josh Edwards of the Cats Pause, Kenton (Ohio) offensive tackle Larry Wells and Madison (Ala.) James Clemens offensive tackle Logan Stenberg committed to UK. They made their pledge while on a visit to Lexington to see UK practice during spring football.
“I just loved everything about it. I felt at home. And the facilities are awesome – as is the coaching staff,” Wells said.
Wells, a 6-foot-8-298-pound offensive tackle was recruited by tight ends coach Vince Marrow and offensive line coach John Schlarman.
Stenberg, a 6-foot-6, 327-pound lineman, was also recruited by offensive line coach John Schlarman.
After one of the best recruiting classes in the history of the program, Kentucky’s is off to a fast start in 2014-15 with their third and fourth commitment of the class. Both prospects are currently unranked, but Wells had offers from Illinois, Cincinnati, Toledo and Akron.
Along with Stenberg and Clemens are Lovejoy (Ga.) cornerback Montrell Custis and Lake Wales (Fla.) safety Marcus Walker.
